Absolutely, this class is designed specifically for you. In many cases, the dog finds other things more interesting and exciting. Our class is specifically designed to help you and your dog build a strong foundation to stick together. We can’t promise that pulling will stop altogether, but we can promise to expand your toolbox so you can choose the skill that best fits the challenge you may be facing at the time.
This class is completely different from typical “Loose Leash Dog Walking” classes. Many skills may seem unusual at first, and it might make you think, “How will this possibly work?” Your dog experiences it differently.
Our approach focuses on building a strong foundation for long-term results rather than quick fixes.* It may feel unfamiliar at first, but the skills you and your dog develop will stick, helping you enjoy walks with confidence and connection.
That depends on how your dog reacts. If your dog doesn’t respond strongly, this class is likely a great fit.
We guide you in understanding your dog’s response and how to manage it. If your dog reacts very strongly to small groups, becomes highly stressed in the car, or reacts intensely when people are nearby, this may not be the right class. You can always schedule a free 15-minute discovery call to discuss your challenges.
No. Everyone in the group faces similar challenges. Maybe your dog bolts around like the Flash or drags you to everything while wanting to greet everyone. That’s exactly why we’re here.
Video submissions for weekly homework are shared as learning opportunities. You’ll review what worked, note three things that went well, and discuss areas for improvement and strategies for next time.
Prong collars and choke chains are not allowed in this program. Using these tools can lead to inconsistency in our specially designed program. All of the skills we learn are designed for use without more “unpleasant” methods.
Using such tools during the program can lead to unreliable behaviors, a disruption or complete breakdown of the line of communication we strive to achieve, and shut down dogs with more miserable walks.
If you don’t feel comfortable without these tools, you are more than welcome to join our Private Pathway program to provide personalized guidance for a smooth transition and team success. It would be best to contact the trainer if you are using these tools and looking for a change.
It’s never too late. Dogs of any age can learn new skills. Senior dogs may have limited mobility, so they stay closer and move less. Still, wouldn’t it be nice if your dog could start or stop walking when you want?
You can communicate almost non-verbally with your senior dog, and the skills you learn will also carry over to future dogs.
That is okay. We don’t expect perfection. Leash walking can be surprisingly challenging because our walking style is unusual to dogs. What matters is how you feel. If you start seeing leash walking differently or learn new ways to manage struggles, you’ve succeeded.
You can retake the class or use our membership program for extra practice.
This class is designed to fit into your daily walks. Weekly video submissions take one to two minutes at most, and you can incorporate the skills into your regular walks.
Hands-free leash walking is a team skill. We focus on limiting pulling while maintaining connection. You’ll learn how to lightly hold the leash while still controlling it when needed. It’s about understanding and connection, not fancy tools.
No. This may require extra work, but it won’t ruin progress. We can help you develop these skills in private classes or with Done For You Dog Training.
Your dog can learn to walk politely while still enjoying greetings appropriately.
Every dog finds something rewarding, and it may not always be food. We test different motivators, like treats, toys, or life experiences, to discover what excites your dog. Join the class to learn how to use these motivators effectively.
We are here to support your success. You can email or text with concerns, and we can schedule up to 30 minutes of additional help.
You’re welcome to retake the class, switch to a Private Pathway, or use Done For You Dog Training if needed.
