Scheduling Policy:

This course is designed to provide individualized coaching, helpful feedback, and a safe learning environment for both dogs and handlers.

To support this small-group learning experience, the class is limited to six dog-and-handler teams, with spots filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Consistent attendance helps you and your dog build skills each week, making walks something you both look forward to.

Because this is a progressive six-week course, consistent attendance is essential for both your individual progress and the overall learning experience.

Virtual Sessions

Virtual sessions are the most important part of the course. They give you a chance to share wins, troubleshoot challenges, and prepare for in-person practice. These sessions foster a sense of teamwork, so every dog-and-handler team can learn from each other and feel supported.

Sessions are held live via Google Meet for about 40 minutes every Friday and may be recorded for review, but recordings do not replace live attendance. Please plan to attend all scheduled meetings.

In-Person Sessions

In-person sessions provide hands-on coaching and real-world practice. Each session lasts about 45 minutes and takes place on Saturdays, giving you a chance to apply skills learned in the virtual sessions with personalized guidance.

These sessions also allow the group to support each other, share successes, and celebrate progress, making learning more effective and enjoyable for everyone.

Vaccination Requirement

To ensure the health and safety of all dogs and handlers, all dogs enrolled in the course must be up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, including:

  • Rabies (16 weeks or older)

  • Distemper/Parvovirus combination (DHPP) (must have first round)

  • Bordetella

Proof of vaccination is required before the first session. When providing this information, please include the date the vaccine was given. For multi-series vaccines, any remaining doses should be updated and provided at the first class after the series is complete.
